谈谈攀比现象的坏处

• 材料：目前，某些城市的中学生，有互相攀比名牌的现象，而且由于一些家长总是对学生的要求作出让步，进一步助长了学生的不良倾向．
  　　１．正反方面意见都要给，并表明自己观点．
  　　２．名牌－famous-brand
  　　　　节约－practice thrift
  　　　　美德－virtue

       There is a trend in middle school students in some cities to own famous-brand products now.Some parents will always satisfy their children's demands, so that further help increase the unreasonable competetion among middle school students.While this phenomenon is becoming a social issue nowadays,and different people may have different opinions on it.
        The younger generation,most of whom are owning or in a great thisrt of the famous band products,beleive that they are the right side on this issue.Because,they argued,famous brand products usually have much better quality than others,and when using them people could feel very confident.Also the desire in owning them will stimulate people to work harder,make more money,and finally realize their dreams.However, their arguement were harshly criticized by other people,more of whom are the elder generations(of course some young people are included).   Our father generation grew up through a tough time.In their mind practice thrift is always a virtue,never fade away,and people should stick to it no matter you are rich or poor.They beleive famous brand products are expensive only because they are famous in stead of good quality, they don't understand why there children are crazy about a big name but not a practical product.
       As for me,my opinion is that young people should have their own sense when pruchasing such products.I admit the good quality of of the famous brand products and the wonderful feeling when I own them.But that only happened when I earn my own money. Middle school students are dependent on their parents,and their parents will pay their tuition which is not a small amount of money these days.If your family budget allows your parents spend money in buying the brand products for you,and they are willing to do so, just enjoy them and be grateful to your dearest parents.But if your family do not have enough money,we should not blame our parents,and compete with our friends.Take it as a future goal, work hard, and get them when yourself is afforded for them.That is what I did when I was in middle school, and I got everything I dreamed of before.I feel happy and I have new dreams.That is a kind of pursuit of happiness!
